UD Cybersecurity Club
The purpose of the UD Cybersecurity Club is to:
- To promote the education of and help expand the knowledge and skills of its members
in
cybersecurity.
- To encourage a free exchange of best practices and current research in cybersecurity.
Qualifications for Membership
- Membership shall be limited to those of high scholarship, with a demonstrated interest
in management, and of good moral character.
- No individual shall be denied membership in the UD Cybersecurity Club because of race,
religion, national origin, or sex.
Classes of Membership
Candidates for undergraduate degrees at UD may be elected to membership if they have
attained a GPA of at least 3.0 (in a system where A is 4.0) or its equivalent on all
work taken at UD.
Candidates for graduate degrees at UD may be elected to membership if they have attained
a GPA of at least 3.0, or its equivalent.

The Virtual Internship and Varied Innovative Demonstrations (VIVID) Coalition comprised
of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Augusta University, University of Arizona,
and Florida International University has competition opportunities available for college
students to compete in teams of five.

Naomi Buckwalter, is the executive director of the Cybersecurity Gatebreakers Foundation,
an international non-profit whose mission is to dispel the skill gap illusion and
lower the need for entry-level cybersecurity positions. We are privileged to have
Naomi kick off the Fall Speaker Series on the topic, “A Day In The Life of a Cybersecurity
Professional”.
Naomi's commitment to aiding others has won her a worldwide reputation as a cybersecurity
career advisor and mentor, particularly for women. Naomi has had several positions,
including Software Engineering, Security Architecture, and Security Executive Leadership,
over her more than twenty years of expertise in IT and Security. She earned two Master's
degrees from Villanova University and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Stevens
Institute of Technology.

Gerald Auger, PhD, is an experienced cybersecurity professional, academic, and author with a passion
for his craft with 17+ years of industry experience. Dr. Auger is the creator of Simply
Cyber, a information security YouTube channel with a 36.8K subscriber base and over
a million views. He hosts a Daily Cyber Threat Briefing Podcast. He has built information
security programs from the ground up and loves helping businesses protect their assets.
Dr. Auger earned a PhD in cyber operations and a second masters in computer science
at Dakota State University and a masters in information assurance at Bridgewater State
University. Currently, he teaches in the Department of Cyber Sciences at the Citadel
Military College.
